DC bus electrolytic capacitors are among the most life-limited components in an inverter. Recommended practices: (1) inspect capacitors every 6-12 months for bulging, leakage or unusual noise; (2) record ambient temperature and load conditions since capacitor lifetime roughly halves for every 10°C rise; (3) perform a capacity test after 5 years of operation and plan replacement proactively; (4) power the inverter on at least once every 6 months in storage to avoid capacitor degradation. Following these steps can significantly extend inverter service life.
